Finally.....

I have some cool news: I won the mixdouble tennis final today!! Yeah, seriously, I have eye-witnesses!!! And if you still don't believe it, I can give you my KNLTB-number so you can check it yourself. ((-;

I am playing tennis for about 8 years now and never ever won a thing. I was very close to it over and over again, but never won. That was the same with my soccercareer.... ))-: I played soccer for more than 20 years, and I think my team became 2nd for at least 15 times. But we never won the championship. I almost got a trauma of it! (((-;

So you'll understand I am very happy now. I wasn't feeling nervous at all and was just enjoying the fact that I was playing the final after being injured for a long time and enjoying the beautiful weather. So it couldn't go wrong anyhow. I have a terrible pain in my back right now and I am going to make an appointment with my fysiotherapist first thing in the morning, but hey, that doesn't matter: I WON!

Oh, and please, don't get me wrong; I play tennis on a low level, so don't think I am a star.

Ok, I understand that you're not very interested in my tenniscareer, so I will show you a layout. That's why you're visiting my blog, am I right? This picture was made in Italy aswell. The journaling says that normally we don't like the beach and sea (we prefer a swimmingpool) but the beach near Vada was just lovely. The water was so nice blue, clear and warm and there weren't any rocks to hurt your feet at all. If you're ever in this neighbourhood you have to visit Vada Mare!

New Record

Ok, I admit, mostly we're just lazy when we are on vacation. But one of the active things we do is playing beachball. A few years ago we were very happy when we made a series of 5 or 10 with the kids, but this year Frank and Ivy made a series of 349! What about that?!

A layout and a card

For some days I am the happy owner of this wonderful punch.

It was on my wish-list since my birthday June, 2nd and I safed some money to buy it. Finally I found one! Of course I had to use it directly on a layout. I have been playing with this sketch which I found on Frences' blog.

I really love this old line from Sassafras. I used just some left-overs for the layout and for this little card, which I made for the challenge on the Scrappers Anonimous forum.

The instruction was 1. use the color red, 2. use at least 3 brads, 3. use a stamp and 4. the card had to do something with marriage, living together of a new house. This card is for my uncle and aunt who are married 25 years in a few weeks.

I just noticed that this is message number 100! Wow, time flies!

After two beautiful summer days it started to rain this morning and it still is........ Yak, I hate rain! It is such a difference with yesterday, when I sat outside in my short tennisskirt at 10.00 pm! Even our pussycat doesn't understand this Dutch weather anymore. I think she forgot to take shelter today. (-;

Last Sunday I went to Special Memories in Venlo. I had never been there before, but I noticed on their site that they were open on Sunday and had a Make-and-Take. I had nothing else to do, so I drove to Venlo. Special Memories is a small, but nice store and the personnel (sorry, I don't remember their names) were very friendly. I will sure come back here sometimes! I did a small make-and-take and made a book-marker with a Magnolia-stamp. Although these stamps are not my kind of thing, I really had fun to color it! I will show you a photo later.

I also scored this paper of October Afternoon finally. It was on my wishlist for a long time but I couldn't find it anywhere.

The picture was taken in 2000 on an October Afternoon when we made a Walk In The Park. Hey, what a coincidence! That's exactly the name of this paper! ((-;

There's no place like Lucca

I am in a good mood today; I thought I had to work all day, but I was already finished at 11.45 am! I felt like playing truant when I was eating my lunch in a small restaurant and went shopping after that...(((-;


Last July we went to the beautiful city of Lucca, Italy. I really love this place. Unfortunately we didn't know that we could see it also by cycling over the city walls.... So now we have to come back sometimes for sightseeing Lucca in that way. Poor us. (((-; In fact.....we have booked a new vacation to Tuscany for May 2009 already. Yeah! So maybe we go back next year and rent
some bikes. I can't wait!
